Ham Slam

Posted by Michael on July 27th, 2008 — 9:51pm

The setting for the incident sparking this phrase is Spar, Dublin city centre on New Year’s Eve. Phil recalls it was Eurospar, but who cares? Michael certainly doesn’t.

Spar were advertising a number of creatively named sandwiches, Ham Slam and Get Stuffed being amongst the inspired choices. Michael first asked for the Ham Slam which consisted of bread, ham… They didn’t have any of those ingredients.

Phil: I would slam her.

By this Philip means he would have sex with her.

You’re not my mom!

Posted by Michael on July 26th, 2008 — 12:26am

Not many people have seen Burr’s protective and nurturing side, but it does exist. Honestly! This was no more plain to see than in Edinburgh, 2005. And like any overbearing mother fretting over her teenage son, Burr received a lot of shit from his teenage son, on this occasion played by Porter.

This should put into context Porter’s earliest catchphrase “You’re not my mom!” Were it not for six variables and one constant, this phrase would never have been uttered.

1. Porter is a douche
2. Porter had been gorging himself on Stella Artois
3. Porter was wearing his trucker hat
4. CD showed some empathy to Porter’s deteriorating situation
5. Porter wanted in on some gear*
6. CD suggested he take it easy
7. Porter was pretty tanked on Stella by that point

The result?

Naughty boy: “You’re not my mom!”

*Drugs. Illicit drugs.
